Cocktails & Comics and The Indie Creator Convention Workshop

Our 3rd event at the Foundre Hotel is coming up on Saturday, September 12th! Cocktails and Comics is a FREE event showcasing comic creators, comics, zines, illustration art and more! Doors open at 5pm and the event will run until 10pm in the event space adjacent to the lobby. Cocktails and Comics is a fundraising event that helps us bring in national guests for our big show in March. Stay tuned for more info! Creator Applications for Cocktails and Comics are open now.​

Also on September 12th, before Cocktails and Comics, there will be an Indie Creator Convention Workshop run by Ryan Cody and J.Gonzo! Ryan and Gonzo will walk new creators through best practices on how to set up, display, and sell your work at shows. They’ll go through the the dos and don’ts of setting up at a convention and dealing with fans, other creators, and show runners. They’ll also answer questions newer creators may have about showcasing their work at conventions. This workshop is free and does not include a table for Cocktails and Comics.  Please register your interest here so we know how many people to expect. Space is limited. If you’d like to stick around and showcase your work at Cocktails and Comics later that day, the table application for that is here.​

Jaime Hernandez is coming to AZCAF!

The Arizona Comicbook Arts Festival is proud to welcome the co-creator of Love and Rockets!

Together with his brothers Gilbert and Mario, Jaime co-created the ongoing comic book series Love and Rockets in 1981. Love and Rockets has evolved into one of the great bodies of American literary fiction, spanning five decades and countless high-water marks in the medium’s history. In 2016, Hernandez won the prestigious Los Angeles Times Book Prize for his graphic novel, The Love Bunglers. In 2017, he (along with Gilbert) was inducted into the Will Eisner Comic Book Hall of Fame.

We are thrilled to welcome Jaime to Phoenix where he will join Phil Hester and over 100 other comic creators and retailers at our event which is proud to celebrate comics, and the people who make them.
